Terms of Service

These Terms set out the rules for using REEL MUSEUM (the "Service"). Please read them before you start using the Service.

Article 1 (Application)

These Terms set out the conditions for use of the Service between users and HUNTER'S DESIGN ("we"/"us"), who provides the Service. By using the Service, users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 2 (Description of the Service)

The Service is an unofficial, fan-made tool that lets users browse a catalog of vintage reels (mainly baitcasting reels), estimate manufacturing year from the foot number, check appearance features, get AI-assisted appraisal help, and view reference information on secondhand market prices.

The Service offers the following features, some free and some paid.

• Free features: browsing the catalog, foot-number year estimation, feature checks, and AI appraisal trials (up to 3 total)
• Paid membership (subscription): advanced search, deeper market-price lookups, My Collection, an expanded AI appraisal quota, and more

Article 3 (Registration and Accounts)

• Some features of the Service require registration with an email address.
• Authentication is passwordless. We send a 6-digit login code to your email address, and you enter it as a one-time code to sign in. We do not store passwords.
• Users must not share their email address or login code with any third party, or let a third party use them.
• Users are responsible for keeping their email account able to receive the messages used for login.

Article 4 (Paid Membership and Fees)

• Paid membership is a monthly subscription. The membership tiers and fees are as follows (all amounts include tax and are subject to change).
  • Silver Member: ¥300 / month
  • Gold Member: ¥800 / month
  • Platinum Member: ¥1,500 / month (AI appraisals are handled by our higher-tier AI model, Claude Opus, up to 50 times per month)
• Payments are processed through Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") on the web version, and through Apple App Store in-app purchase in the iOS app. We do not store users' credit card numbers or other payment details.
• Fees are charged automatically to the registered payment method at sign-up and on each renewal date.
• The features available, the AI appraisal quota, and the AI model used all vary by membership tier. Please refer to the in-app display for details.

Article 5 (Cancellation and Withdrawal)

• You may cancel your paid membership at any time: on the web version via "Manage Membership" (Stripe customer portal), and in the iOS app via Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Even after cancellation, you may continue using paid features for the period you already paid for (until the next renewal date). Auto-renewal stops on that date, and your account then reverts to Visitor (free).
• As a rule, we do not provide prorated refunds (see the Legal Notice under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions for details).
• If you wish to delete your account entirely, please contact us through the channel listed in Article 14.

Article 6 (Disclaimer for AI Appraisals and Market Data)

• Year estimates are inferences based on collector community consensus and publicly available information, and may differ from the actual year of manufacture or specification.
• The AI model used for AI appraisal varies by membership tier (higher tiers use a more capable model), but in every case the result remains reference information only.
• AI appraisal is a machine-learning estimate and can contain misreads or misjudgments. The Service only presents candidates, confidence levels, and reasoning — it does not provide a definitive appraisal, valuation, or authenticity guarantee.
• Market and price data reflect the time they were gathered and may diverge from actual transaction prices due to market fluctuation.
• We accept no responsibility for any purchase, sale, bid, or other decision or action a user takes based on information from the Service. Any buying or selling is done at the user's own judgment and risk.
• The Service is not a substitute for a professional appraisal, valuation, or investment advice.

Article 7 (Photo Submissions and License)

Users may submit photos of reels and similar items that they themselves have taken. By submitting a photo, you agree to the following.

• You may only submit photos that you personally took and have the right to submit and license. Do not submit photos that infringe a third party's copyright, likeness rights, or other rights.
• Submitted photos go through our review process (approval required) before they may be featured in the catalog or elsewhere. We decide whether to feature a submission, and featuring is not guaranteed.
• When featured, we display the credit name (real name or handle) that the submitter specified.
• Location data (GPS, etc.) embedded in submitted photos is automatically stripped on the user's device before the photo is sent.

• If you wish to have a featured photo taken down, please contact us through the channel in Article 14. We will stop featuring and delete it within a reasonable time (we cannot guarantee retrieval from promotional material that has already been published or distributed).
• Perks for photo submissions (AI appraisal tickets, badges, etc.) are granted for approved submissions. Perk content may change or end without notice.

Article 8 (Prohibited Conduct)

When using the Service, users must not do any of the following.

• Act in violation of any law or public order and morals
• Submit photos or information that infringe another person's rights (copyright, trademark, likeness, privacy, etc.)
• Post false information, impersonate someone else, or claim someone else's photo as your own
• Post spam, mass promotional content, or prank submissions
• Collect, reproduce, or accumulate data from the Service using automated tools, bots, scraping, or crawling
• Reproduce, redistribute, resell the Service, or build a derivative service from it
• Use technical means to circumvent AI appraisal usage limits or membership tier restrictions
• Place undue load on the Service's servers or network, gain unauthorized access, or exploit vulnerabilities
• Any other conduct we reasonably judge to be inappropriate

If any of the above occurs, we may, without prior notice, remove content, restrict features, or suspend or delete the account.

Article 9 (Intellectual Property)

Copyright and other rights in the programs, design, catalog data, descriptive text, and other content included in the Service (excluding submitted photos) belong to us or to their rightful owners. Users may not reproduce or repurpose them beyond the scope of private use. Copyright in submitted photos remains with the submitter; we use them only within the scope of the license in Article 7.

Article 10 (Changes and Suspension of the Service)

• We may change, add to, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service without prior notice to users.
• The Service may be temporarily interrupted due to system maintenance, failures, outages of external services (payment, email delivery, AI, etc.), or other unavoidable circumstances.
• Except as provided in these Terms, we are not responsible for any resulting damage to users.

Article 11 (Disclaimers)

• We do not guarantee that the Service will suit a user's particular purpose, produce any expected result, be accurate or useful, or run without interruption.
• We are not liable for damage arising from a user's use of, or inability to use, the Service, except where caused by our own intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
• Where we are liable for damages, our liability is capped at the amount the user most recently paid us in fees (except where such a cap is invalid under the Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory law).

Article 12 (Amendment of These Terms)

We may amend these Terms as needed. Material changes will be announced on the Service or through another appropriate method. If a user continues using the Service after a change, they are deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.

Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

Japanese law governs the interpretation of these Terms and the use of the Service. Any dispute between us and a user regarding the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Sendai District Court as the court of first instance.
